Methodology

About this story

NewsFactsHQ collects news from major US outlets. To give you a neutral and complete picture, we compare all these sources and use AI to create one clear synthesis. Below we explain how we calculate the numbers shown on every story.

On every story

How we calculate the numbers

Articles

The total number of news articles the system found across all monitored RSS feeds about this story. This count includes identical wire copies published across multiple outlets (e.g. AP dispatches reprinted verbatim).

Unique

The number of distinct articles remaining after deduplication. Because many outlets republish the exact same press release, the system filters those out. This number shows how many genuinely different articles served as source material for the AI synthesis.

Sources

The number of unique news organizations and websites (such as AP, NPR, CNN, Fox News, etc.) that reported on this event — regardless of whether they wrote original copy or reprinted a wire story.

Key Facts

The most important factual observations distilled from all collected articles. By cross-referencing information, the AI includes only points that multiple newsrooms independently report as fact.
